With a little help from our friends, we think that you can and the 180° Funds are just the thing to help you make that change happen.
Flowing directly out of our Vital Signs outreach in 2019, and inspired by the United Nations’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), leading community philanthropists have set three new funds in motion.
Thank you to Shannon McCaffrey and The McCaffrey Team for providing the seed funding, the Good Health & Well-Being 180° Fund will grow and soon begin to fund turnaround projects that will improve the health and well-being of residents of the County of Lennox & Addington. Shannon explains the team’s involvement,“At McCaffrey Realty Inc. our team is so grateful for the support we’ve received over the years and we are dedicated to giving back to this remarkable community. We are honoured to support those who have supported our mission to uphold good health and well being!”
Shaune Lucas of the Downtown Napanee Business Hub has generously donated towards the establishment of the No Poverty 180° Fund. As this fund grows, together we will turnaround the negative impacts of poverty across Lennox and Addington. As Shaune says “I am a team guy and I have always preached that the team is not as strong as its strongest link, it is only as strong as its weakest link and we need to have our communities move together as one so there doesn’t become a big gap between those who have not and those who have”
It should come as no surprise that environmental activist and former MP Mike Bossio has donated the seed funding to create the Environmental Action 180° Fund. Bossio states “Protecting our environment is the challenge of our generation and it’s up to us to lead the fight for life on land, the fight for life below water and the fight against climate change. We can make critical contributions right here in our home communities.”
The quicker these funds grow, the more work we can accomplish. Gifts to these funds are pooled with other gifts and invested in perpetuity allowing for the funding of charitable projects each year. We’re here for good, forever.
