Cloyne Park Gets Microburst Funding

Margaret Axford is the Curator of the Cloyne Pioneer Museum. She describes the importance of CFFL&A funding when a microburst hit the Cloyne area in 2002 toppling trees in this hamlet park that had many 200 year old White Pine trees.  The towering Pines were uprooted necessitating a large clean-up and redevelopment of the park.  The community came together and with Foundation funding the park was rebuilt, reforested and is again a focal point of Cloyne.

Tramway Model Project at the Cloyne Pioneer Museum

The Cloyne Pioneer Museum and Archives was a recipient of a grant from the Endowment Fund that enabled the creation of a historic tramway model for the Museum.  Margaret Axford, Curator for the Pioneer Museum explains the tramway was a means of overland transporting logs by horses on rails from Mazinaw to Pringle Lake in the late 1800s.  The model is now on permanent display at the Museum.
